May I have this dance....

Elegant Easter Party

Okay Addi Grace, I'm going to try to explain your Elegant Easter Party on our blog without crying the entire time mommy is typing! I get so emotional because these are little milestones you are going through that I remember your older sister doing and it feels just like last year but It's really been 10 years....(sniff sniff)
At your elementary school the Kindergarten classes celebrate Easter with an Elegant Easter Party! This is really like Kindergarten prom! The entire week you practice your elegant manners and practice dancing with your partner Ms. Holland has all ready chosen for you.
The day before the party Mommy met a couple of friends at your class and we turned your class room into a Kindergarten ball room! It was beautiful with vibrant colors and a dance floor!
At your party Ms. Holland said ....."Gentlemen"...they then got up and walked to their partner, held out their hand and asked..."May I have this dance please?" You then replied...."I'd be delighted...."
Addi Grace, you are so very shy but you put your arm through his as he led you to the dance floor and danced! (sniff sniff) He twirled you and giggled and smiled....while mommy was fighting back all the tears!! It was then time for the father/daughter dance. Oh my Addi Grace, you surprised mommy and daddy when you turned him down and hid behind mommy and refused to dance with your daddy! I think he was a little shocked but I know your daddy is just fine dancing in the living room with his angel and not in front of your whole class.....

May I have this dance please?....I'd be delighted....

My beautiful Addi Grace, I know your mommy is going to look back 12 years from now when you are a senior in high school and completely not understand where the years have gone....
Your mommy and daddy enjoyed watching you dance with a young man for the very first time and I look so forward to all the many dances in your life my sweet baby!! I love that your school has this every year and all 3 of my angels will have a "kindergarten prom"! I love you my precious girl and thank you for twirling in my heart each and everyday~
